10/9/2023: Hamas Launched a Surprise Attack on Israel
Hamas, a Palestinian militant group that rules the Gaza Strip, fired thousands of rockets on Saturday morning, striking targets as far away as Tel Aviv and the outskirts of Jerusalem. Shockingly, the Hamas militants killed more than 250 civilians who were attending the Music Festival for Love and Peace and took more people into hostage. The attack on the music festival alone is a terrorist attack. But I couldn’t believe what I saw on the internet. Many people came out to support the attack. A San Francisco Chronicle article literally said the following without mentioning the musical festival massacre:
Hundreds of Bay Area residents rallied in support of Palestinians in downtown San Francisco on Sunday afternoon, voicing impassioned support for Palestinian resistance to Israeli military control and demanding the United States end financial and political support to Israel.
…
“It’s important for the Bay Area to show support for Palestinians, as it’s done for other marginalized communities here and abroad,” said Zakout, who has family from Gaza.
Melanie Cervantes of San Leandro handed out signs reading “Free Palestine” to fellow protesters. She said she is disturbed by the narrative that the attacks came out of the blue, “without understanding the history of the occupation of Palestine.”
Well, I understand the frustration of Palestinian people but I don’t know how this frustration could justify the massacre or the attack. I also don’t understand how this could help the Palestine people regain their territory. At best, they attract some attention but I have a hard time seeing how they could gain public support by murdering civilians. MSM like NYT and SFChronicle seems to side with Hamas, rationalizing their violent act and a joint statement issued by 31 Harvard student organizations have held Israel entirely responsible for Hamas' brutal, surprise attack that has killed at least 700 Israelis. What? Has the western world simply gone mad?
